Ryan Jones

Meet Mr. Jones

I was born and raised in Craven County, next to my grandfather's farm. I graduated from West Craven High School and went to college at ECU. Before I started teaching, I served in the army for several years, during which I was deployed to Iraq twice.

A year after returning from my second deployment, I started my teaching career at Farmville Middle School. I worked there for 3 1/2 years before I moved to North Pitt High School, and I worked there for 9 years. I had a lot of experiences and professional development while at North Pitt that helped me grow professionally. In 2023, I started at Southside and plan on staying here until I retire. This year marks the start of my fifteenth year of teaching, and I am still growing and learning as an educator, which helps me enjoy this job.

I currently live in Washington with my awesome wife of 15 years and my 2 children, who are 10 and 7 years old. I love to travel, read, and watch Carolina basketball.
