Lisa Johnson
Meet Mrs. Johnson
My name is Lisa Johnson. I am a retired Southside Math teacher. I have returned to SHS to teach math part-time to help students further their math understanding. I am also at Southside to help the Math Department lower class size to provide more individualized instruction to enhance student learning.
I have enjoyed being a part of the Seahawk family for the past 19 years and I look forward to yet another great year working with students on their math endeavors.
I began my teaching journey by attending Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. I completed my college education in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education. Upon graduating, I began teaching middle school math and science in Wilson County, where I remained for 17 years. I continued my teaching pathway by coming to Beaufort County in 2006. I started teaching high school math here at Southside High School in February of that year. I taught here until I retired in June 2021.
I am married to Bill Johnson and we are the proud “fur parents” to our cat, Ollie. When we aren’t working, we enjoy riding around in our Nissan 370Z Nismo, watching movies and our favorite shows, spending time with Ollie, and taking walks together.
I’m so excited to be here this year to work with students on their educational journey! All class material will be posted daily in Google Classroom. Students have the access code on their Course Syllabus in the front of their Math binder. If you have any questions or concerns during the semester, please feel free to contact me. To reach me please email me, since I’m only at Southside during 1st period. If you call Southside and leave a voicemail for me after 10:00 am each day, I will not be able to return your call until the next day due to my part-time status. I will return your call as soon as possible, though! Feel free to reach out anytime!
