Meet Mrs. Lane

Hi, I’m Brittany Lane, and I’ve been teaching English for over 16 years, with more than 13 of those years here at Southside High School. I currently teach English II, English IV, and AP Literature and Composition, and I also serve as our English Department Chair and School Improvement Chair.

I’m National Board Certified and earned my B.A. in English from Coastal Carolina University and my M.A. in Education from East Carolina University. I live in Washington, NC, and I’m passionate about making literature meaningful and engaging while helping students build the skills and confidence they need for life beyond high school.
