Meet Dr. Lewis
Dr. Aaron Lewis, or as he is fondly known around the schoolhouse, “Mr. Lewis,” has served in Beaufort County Schools since joining the Southside High School family in 2001, bringing more than two decades of experience in education, student support, and leadership. He holds doctoral degrees in Theology (Th.D.) and Sacred Studies (D.SS.), along with undergraduate degrees in Marriage & Family Counseling, Life Coaching, Chaplaincy, and Christian Counseling. A former substitute teacher and Driver’s Education instructor, Mr. Lewis has extensive experience guiding students both inside and outside the classroom.
Being a Pioneer Seahawk reflects his long-standing connection to Beaufort County Schools, symbolizing his role in helping to lay the foundation for school traditions, spirit, and community growth. In addition to his work in education, Mr. Lewis serves as Senior Pastor of a local church, President of the W. J. Crandol Leadership Training Foundation, and President of the Beaufort County NAACP. He is also an experienced workshop and seminar facilitator. His lifelong passion is equipping the next generation through teaching, mentorship, and service, reflecting a deep commitment to education and community legacy.
